Going to college is great experience for many people. Before heading off to college, there are a lot of things that college students can do to prepare for their 4 years of study. Students will need to buy some supplies before heading off to school. One of the most important things that a student will buy is probably laptops for college students. Many colleges highly recommend that students buy laptops. Some colleges even require it especially in the business department.
There are a wide range of laptops which makes it difficult for many students to choose the right one. Prices of laptops also range quite a bit. You could buy a netbook for a few hundred dollars or you could buy the top of the line laptop for several thousand dollars. First, you need to determine what your needs are. If you plan on using your laptop for typing up documents and surfing the web then a simple, cheap laptop would suffice. If you plan on playing the newest games on your laptop, then you should expect to plunk down a lot of money. For most students, a laptop like Dell like eMachines would suffice. These laptops are usually pretty cheap and affordable. For those students that plan on playing games on their laptops as well as work on it, they should consider buying Alienware. These laptops are meant for extreme gaming. If you are really on a budget, you could buy a netbook for around 300 dollars. These are really small laptops that are light and easy to carry around. Usually, the screen and keyboard size are smaller so it could be difficult to use for some people. They also have less power than a regular laptop.
Finally, for students who absolutely cannot afford a laptop, you may want to look into free laptops for college students. You can probably find these on websites such as Craigslist in the free stuff section. There may also be church organizations in your area that would help you get a free laptop. If you are trying to get a free laptop, don’t expect it to be the top of the line. These laptops are usually several years old that people do not want. They are mostly good for just browsing the web or word processing.
